Amberjet™, Amberlite™, Ambersep™, Amberlyst™
Ion Exchange Resins and Catalysts
Strong Base Anions type 1 and type 2 - Sorted in alpha-numerical order
AMBERLYST™ polymer based catalysts and Amberjet™, Amberlite™ and Ambersep™ strong base anionic ion exchange resins involve mostly the use of functionalized styrene divinylbenzene or polyacrylic copolymers with different surface properties and porosities. The functional group is generally of a quaternized ammonium group (type 1, type 2). These resins are supplied as gellular or macroreticular spherical beads. They have been used for 40 years in a wide variety of reactions and purification processes.
Amberjet™, Amberlite™ and Ambersep™ strong base anionic resins are mainly used for the removal of acids and cyanides from aqueous and non aqueous streams and the recovery of metals in various mining applications. Amberlyst™ catalysts are used in aldol condensations and methanol carbonylations.
All these products have been optimized towards pore size distribution,
optimal lifetime and reduced fouling through organic species from the feed
streams. In metal applications they are known for their high operating capacity,
low leakage and excellent elution behavior. In base catalysis where selectivity
and temperature stability is required they show good selectivity and conversion
rates.
